Chris founded BluAcres LLC in 2007 and has since led it to become one of the Pennsylvania’s leading wetland companies. Chris serves as the company’s Principal Biologist, and he is knowledgeable about numerous federal financial assistance programs available to landowners in Pennsylvania including WRP, CRP, CREP, WHIP. Under his leadership, BluAcres has grown its impact, designing and implementing wetland and wildlife habitat projects throughout Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.
Prior to BluAcres from 2000 to 2007, Chris spearheaded one of the Commonwealth’s largest waterfowl habitat development programs by administering and delivering over four million dollars of federal, state and private restoration dollars. These funds restored 1,500+ acres of wetlands and over 100 miles of riparian buffers in Pennsylvania in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, USDA Farm Service Agency, Pennsylvania Game Commission, Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, corporations, and private landowners. Chris’s past experiences also include wetland mitigation, waterfowl impoundments, wetlands for passive treatment systems of acid mine drainage, educational wetlands, and wildlife habitat development. Chris received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and his Associate of Science in Wildlife Technology from Pennsylvania State University.
